Hello everyone. My name is Jana, and I am very pleased to be working with
your wonderful pets. I was grateful to be asked to take over this business
when Sarah and Brian moved out of state in early 2009.

I come from a long line of pet lovers, and have been fortunate enough to have
had many great animal companions throughout my life. My current buddies
are Freckles, a rescue, who we believe is a border collie and pointer mix. She
is amazingly intelligent, incredibly sweet, and faster than a speeding bullet!
She has learned to bring me my socks when she is ready for her daily
run/walk/ bike ride along. We manage to squeeze in about 4 miles a day.

I also share space with Rosy, the wonder-cat (no one can really claim to own
Rosy). She believes herself to be queen of all things, and in all honesty, we
usually treat her like she is! Her favorite hobbies include chasing and
retrieving puff balls (then dropping them in the middle of whatever you are
trying to focus on at the time), opening locked doors, and surprise ankle
attacks on unsuspecting passerbys.

I am certified by the American Red Cross in canine/feline CPR and first aid.

Aside from a lifetime of experience with my own animals, I have helped train
and foster rescue animals as a volunteer. Over the years, I have volunteered
at pet rescues and fostered many animals.  I understand the deep
connection you have to your pets, and I promise to treat them with loving
kindness, as if they were my own.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to be working with my
mom and Carbon Valley Pets.  I have had a passion for animals
all my life, and am currently a pre-veterinary student at Colorado
State University.

I began learning how to behavior train animals when I was
fourteen in a program that rescued shelter dogs with the goal of
turning them into service dogs for the mobility impaired. I have
worked with hundreds of dogs since that time and can handle a
wide variety of behavioral problems. Currently when not in school, I
volunteer at Longmont Humane Society as a dog walker, clinic
assistant and foster parent.

I am certified by the American Red Cross in canine/feline CPR and
first aid.

The health and well-being of animals is extremely important to me.
